DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT (DRM)
As with any music format if a track can be played back once it can be recorded from one device to another. Digital Rights Management (DRM) allows us to apply layers of playback and copy control to a digital file through an encrypted license. This specifies the circumstances under which a digital file can be played back.

There are several DRM file encryption technologies available. The emusu platform includes 4 options in order to provide a choice of DRM encryption levels suitable for different sales and marketing purposes. Any combination can be applied when uploading material to your emusu website. Please note DRM can only be applied to WMA files - this file type is not iPod compatible, hence DRM is not widely used.

LEVEL 1: any format - no DRM encryption

LEVEL 2:

WMA only - user must download a license that will only allow file playback on that computer

LEVEL 3:

WMA only - file has lifespan and will dissolve after a preset no. of days

LEVEL 4:

WMA only - file will direct users back to your emusu website for payment when file is forwarded to a new computer
